Rebecca has been improvising for 26 years. She did her training at the Loose Moose Theatre Company in Calgary, Alberta with Keith Johnstone and Dennis Cahill, and is a firm believer and practitioner of narrative improv. Rebecca has taught at the University of Calgary, the Second City Training Centre, and continues to teach at the Canadian Film Centre. She joined the faculty at the Birmingham Conservatory at the Stratford Festival of Canada in October. Also a professional actor / director / writer, Rebecca has combined her theatre background with her improv practise to foster a new genre of theatre she calls, Spontaneous Theatre. A balance of highly structured narrative, featuring an audience member in the lead role, makes for thrilling improvisation! Her first original creation, Blind Date, has played off-Broadway, in London’s West End, and continues touring 6 years later. Other Spontaneous Theatre creations include: Legend Has It , An Undiscovered Shakespeare, and Undercover.
